Breakthrough in corona treatment: Dexamethasone steroid ‘will save many lives’
An affordable and widely available drug Dexamethasone steroid is being called a successful drug for the treatment of COD-19. So far, it has been found that those who eat it are less likely to die from code-19.
Global trials have shown that the mortality rate of critically ill patients taking the steroid ‘Dexa methazone’ has been reduced by one-third.
Reacting to the findings, Professor Chris Whitty, the UK’s chief medical officer, said: “This is by far the most important trial result for Code 19.
He tweeted that the drug would save lives around the world.
Bradford Royal Infirmary is one of many hospitals in the UK that were working on a recovery trial. Recovery Trial stands for Randomized Evaluation of Code-19 Therapy.
This is the most important trial result for COVID-19 so far. Significiant reduction in mortality in those requiring oxygen or ventilation from a widely available, safe and well known drug. Many thanks to those who took part and made it happen. It will save lives around the world. https://t.co/zRIaHulHOe
