Samsung is seriously considering assembly plant in Pakistan
Leading Korean technology company Samsung has started seriously considering setting up its assembly plant in Pakistan.
Smartphone production in Pak is multiplying following DIRBS implementation and Mobile Policy launched recently.

Federal Minister for Industry Hamad Azhar said in a message released from the social networking website Twitter that due to the recently introduced mobile policy and DIRBS system, the production of smartphones in Pakistan has increased significantly.
He wrote that he had met top Samsung officials in which he appreciated the government’s policy and initiatives and expressed seriousness over setting up its smartphone assembling plant in Pakistan.
Ministry of Industries and Production initiated Mobile Device Manufacturing Policy in January 2019 by designating Engineering Development Board (EDB) as a secretariat for policy formulation through consultation with public and private sector stakeholders.
